Ingredients : Half a lemon (not peeled) Ginger root  (one to two inches long, peeled) 1 medium sized green apple 2 to 3 handfuls of spinach (more if you’re brave or used to the flavor) How to prepare : 1)     Just in case you are using a vertical slow juicer and you’re using spinach with the stems still intact try to chop them into smaller chunks (1” or so) so it does not clog. 2)     For traditional extractors just roll the spinach up in a ball then sandwich it in between the two halves of the apple. 3)     Juice the ginger and lemon afterwards. 4)     Food Fact: Ginger is used by the ancient Chinese to fight a variety of ailments (particularly stomach ailments) and is known to improve circulation. This green smoothie is excellent for both weight loss and cleansing. It’s also delicious! Fresh mint and sweet melon are one of my favorite combinations. Dandelion greens are a great source of minerals (especially iron and calcium), protein and dietary fiber. They are also high in vitamins A (thanks to the antioxidant beta-carotene content) and C. Vitamin C also helps facilitate iron absorption. Cucumbers are a good source of vitamin C and also contain vitamin A, molybdenum, folate, manganese, silica, potassium and magnesium. Cucumbers are an excellent source of dietary fiber. Our gardens and markets are full of zucchini. Need a delicious, easy, and gorgeous recipe? Is so, consider Zucchini Ribbon Salad--a fabulous recipe shared by a very talented dieter. Enjoy! Zucchini Ribbon Salad : 2 medium zucchini 1T chopped fresh dill 1t olive oil 1t fresh lemon juice ½ large red pepper sea salt and pepper to taste Cut ends from zucchini. Use peeler to “peel” ribbons of zucchini around the four sides without slicing into the core. Reserve core for another use (it makes a nice snack to enjoy while you’re making dinner). Remove inner membrane and seeds from red pepper and use peeler to “’peel” thin slices of red pepper by running peeler along the cut edge. Toss pepper and zucchini with dill, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
