- The gastric balloon is a non-surgical method to lose weight is to put a ball in the stomach to cause satiety. The ball is passed through the mouth and esophagus and inflated in the stomach.
- The ball is a starter. It allows you to lose weight in 6 months, which would require an effort for 2 years.
- This method is for patients 10 to 25 kg to lose (20-50% overweight relative to their ideal weight). These patients are not candidates for obesity surgery because their weight is not high enough.
